Good morning everyone! I hope your day is going well so far, mine is going great because I just finished this phenomenal gem of a book, The Morning After Memoirs written by Kate Michaels. I was approached by the publisher to review this, and it was definitely a great choice! This book reminded me a little bit of the show Girls, which is one of my favorites. It’s very raunchy, full of laughs, and just gets down to the nitty gritty of sex, dating and accidentally sleeping with someone when you are already in a relationship.

Jess awakens after a long night of partying on New Years Day, but who she wakes up to is not her boyfriend. This guy is someone that she doesn’t even remember, and doesn’t know his name. This can’t be good. After the inevitable break up between Jess and her boyfriend Ben, she goes on a search to find out what it means to be single in the city, and also to find love.

The things that I really enjoyed about this book are that it first of all made me laugh, Jess is quite the character, and is not afraid to put herself out there. She reminds me a lot of Whitney Cummings, who is your raunchy comedian that loves to talk about dongs and sex. The thing that I didn’t quite like about this book was how much Jess got drunk! I mean come on, it was probably for the entire book- which got a little ridiculous after a while. Get your life together woman!

Overall, this book was a fun read, and I think anyone who likes Sex and the City, Lipstick Jungle, or Girls.

This book gets 4 out of 5, I loved the idea, it was hilarious, but the drinking got a little out of hand.
