Give Us This Day

giveusthisday

A former FBI agent turned newlywed, Brooke Burrell, really just wants to start a life with her husband in Hawaii, but she’s called back to action. She starts a new job for the Department of Treasury, which is only supposed to pass the time while her husband is overseas. The job requires adrenaline and action as she must discover who is giving money to terrorists. This is a thrill ride that will keep you on your toes. I really wish that this book would turn into a movie, because to be able to see the action played out on screen would be a dream come true.

This is the first book I have ever read by Tom Avitabile, Give Us This Day, is a real winner in my book. I love when a book can sort of talk about the government and terrorists situations in layman’s terms, because I’m just not that savvy with politics and the behind the scenes of the United States government. I really like that this author can lay it out and show you exactly what he’s talking about, but not make you feel dumb at the same time. This book has a bad ass main character, who just happens to be female, which just adds to the quality of this book!

If you are into action thrillers, with a little bit of terrorist and politics thrown in, this is definitely a book that you are going to want on your book shelf. I love that Brooke is not a one sided character, she’s really fully developed, dimensional, and seems that she could be a really awesome person working with the President and his people. This is also a book that you need a little bit of control to read, because it lays out the plot slowing, but not to the point where you get frustrated. It has a great pace, and it’s just packed full of cool dialog and action. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars, loved it!
