The Urban Boys

The book was so cool! If you’ve seen the movie Chronicle, and you enjoyed it, then The Urban Boys by K.N. Smith will be a great pick for your next reading adventure.

A group of teenaged boys gets exposed to something mysterious, and now they have heightened senses. After the boys get exposed, they must go to a town that is known for it’s evil properties, Sandry Lake. The boys must battle the fact that their heightened abilities make it hard to eat, sleep, and do everything that they normally used to do. Now they have to deal with extreme fatigue and stress. Plus, the pressure of being able to do things that no one else can do has almost become too much. When things go to far, their relationships are tested, and things might go awry even more so.

This book is the first in a series I believe, so it had a lot of character building in it, and the beginning of an adventure story. I thought it was good, but I also felt like I had read it before. It seemed like a really good story, but it was bland. One thing I really liked about this book was that it showed how power at such a young age can be detrimental to a person, which is something that everyone should learn. This book was pretty good, but it needed something else, maybe that something else is in the next books in the series. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.
