I received Kissing Katie by L.T. Kelly from the author in exchange for an honest review. This book was a little bit sad, yet extremely hot and heavy. In this book we meet Katie, who is an Iraq war widow, on the cusp of finding new love after her husband’s tragic passing. She lives with her daughter, and sort of just floats through life with out giving a second glance to much.
When she meets Evan, the sexy rock star, on the subway, she first pushes him away, but eventually decides that getting close to him can’t be the worst thing she could do. When the Evan and Katie’s paths meet again, neither of them can deny the chemistry that is clearly erupting like a volcano between them. The sad part, is that as soon as Katie starts to get very strong feelings for Evan, his band is begins a roller coaster ride of fame. She’s sort of left to simmer her feelings.
I thought this book was exceptionally written, and I had my reservations based on the cover. I really thought that this book was going to be one of those silly romances that leaves you want more, but oh no. I was wrong. This book is steamy, fun and very very descriptive.
Not only are the love scenes wonderful, the characters are real and in depth. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
