Nookietown

Boy oh boy, I was not expecting the raunchiness factor of this book! When I first received Nookietown by V.C. Chickering from The Reading Room I thought this book was going to be about teenage boys, or college aged boys. I was wrong. I was not expecting this book to be about forty something women! The characters in this book made it so much fun to read, and definitely worth the surprise.

Lucy, who is in her forty’s and just recently got divorced, is craving male attention. She can’t seem to find anyone to just mess around with, until her friend Nancy invites Lucy to sleep with her husband. WHAT!? Lucy is a little skeptical at first, but then Nancy gives her some rules to go by-for example not falling in love- and tells Lucy that this would make everyone so much happier. She’s rarely in the mood to have sex with her husband, and since Lucy wants to have sex, it’s the perfect arrangement.

Soon, lot’s of married women and their husbands, along with divorced women come together to create a system in which the husbands and divorcee’s get to sleep together while the wive’s get to live with happy husbands. All this changes after Lucy discovers that she’s pregnant, and isn’t really sure who the dad of the child is.

If you are looking for a naughty book, with many cringeworthy and laugh out loud moments this one won’t be a disappointment. I really enjoyed this, it wasn’t what I was expecting but it was hilarious and a fun book to read none the less. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
