I Wanna be a Great Big Dinosaur-Kids Book Review

This book was probably one of the cutest things I have ever seen! My son and I read it about 15 times in the first day that we received it. I Wanna be a Great Big Dinosaur by Heath McKenzie is imaginative, colorful, bright and it has a lovely message. This is definitely going to be a new favorite book in our home.

All a little boy wants is to be a great big dinosaur, but once he finds out that dinosaurs only eat meat, don’t like to read much, and haven’t ever played soccer, he isn’t quite sure if that’s what he wants to do anymore. After the dinosaur hears all about the fun things that little boys do, he thinks he might want to try being a little boy for a change. Then, the dinosaur thinks of a great idea-they can be both!

Not only were the illustrations in this book pure magic, beautiful and brilliant-the message in the book was wonderful. The little boy learns that it’s fun to think about what other things you would like to be, but ultimately it’s just as good to be yourself! One thing that I absolutely adored about this book was the way that the words just GREW (literally) on the screen, and you could actually feel the emotions emanating from the pages. Your kids, like mine, will find pure perfection between the pages of this book. 5 out of 5 stars from me! I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
