If you have a friend who is newly married, or someone you know asks for lots of marriage advice, definitely give them this book. You Exhaust Me: A Clueless Guy’s Guide to Marriage by Bob Marsocci is a hilariously insightful book about just about every question a newly married (and even a guy whose been married for a long time) could possibly ask.
For example, let’s talk about your wife’s birthday. If she says that you don’t have to get her anything. She doesn’t mean that you don’t have to get her anything. When your wife says that she is fine, she is not fine. All of these little tidbits of advice seem silly, and they are written in a funny way-but to be honest they are good little nuggets of advice that guys everywhere could learn to understand! The author of this book has been married for over twenty years, so he has had quite a bit of experience in being married, and dealing with his wife; he knows what he is talking about.
I am obviously not a guy, but I have been married for 4 years, and I definitely see how these things can be relevant in my life. I showed this book to my husband, and at first he thought I was being silly, but he eventually skimmed through it and we discussed certain things that we found interesting in the book. From closet space to the bathroom shower, we found little bits of ourselves in this book. We were able to discuss our relationship in a new way, and it was both funny and helpful at the same time.
Of course, not every marriage is going to have the issues that are talked about in this book, but I guarantee that every married couple will find something useful in this book! If you want to have a laugh while ultimately receiving some decent advice, then definitely check this book out. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars, witty yet educational.
