Java Break is a short and sweet romance by Lynn Donovan. This book is less than 100 pages, and is cute, especially if you love coffee!
Wendy and Dillon meet in the Java Cupid coffee shop, after Wendy finds a hidden message on her coffee cup, she suspects that Dillon is the one who wrote it. Come to find out, Dillon and Wendy actually work together at the hospital as well, and soon their friendship becomes more, much much more.
Eventually Wendy and Dillon find out that their parents are dating, and have to decide what they are going to do about this situation. If their parents get married, then they are going to be step-siblings, and that’s just wrong. Besides that, one of Dillon’s ex girlfriends is on the prowl, and it’s starting to make Wendy very suspicious.
Like I said, this was a short book- and I felt that some of the story lines were a little bit open ended, so maybe there will be a sequel. The story line about the hidden message kind of ended abruptly, and I felt ripped off, because I never found out who wrote it-but then again, this could be answered in another book- who knows. All in all, this was a cute story, it was refreshing, easy to read, and simple. I would have liked to get a little more back story on each character, that would have made me fall in love with them even more. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.
