When Moshe wakes up naked in a cemetery, he doesn’t realize that he’s been dead for the past two years, he has no idea how he got to the cemetery nor does he understand why he’s naked. In An Unexpected Afterlife by Dan Sofer, Moshe must find how to live life again, and get back to his true love.
This book is one that isn’t usually in my wheelhouse of interests, books about dying and religion typically freak me out, but the way this one was written, it was hard to tell that it was so deep. I don’t mean that in a condescending way, either. The author has a great way of masking the content and making it seem like you’re reading a funny love story.
This is the first book in a series, and it was very interesting to read. The setting was clever, the characters were perfect, and the writing style made it a breeze to get through. If you are in the mood to dive into a new world, then this book is something that you are going to want to pick up. Moshe’s story is inspiring, but also there are many twists in the book that keep you flipping the pages. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars, thank you to the author for sending me this book.
