A Box of Awesome Things Matching Game

This fun and wildly random, brightly colored game is perfect for little ones. Based on the book An Incomplete Book of Awesome Things by wee society, this game is full of silly, entertaining, and haphazard things. There are pictures of lava, s’mores, tunnels, and many more things that will keep your little kids giggling and asking questions.

Like any match game, you must place the cards face down, and when taking turns, pick up two cards, if they match-you get to keep the cards, and if they don’t you must flip them face down again. The person with the most matches at the end wins. One awesome thing about this game, is that it comes with two cards that are blank, so you can create your own awesome match card. We decided on Spider-Man in my house.

These pictures are minimalistic, vibrant, and fun to look at. Not only is the game super fun for my four year old, but it also creates conversation. We were able to talk about volcanos, what they do, where lava comes from, as well as what trapdoors are, and what silly things we could use them for. It kept my sons attention for quite some time, which is a feat in and of itself, and it gave us some really good quality time together. Now, we must go find the book that this game is inspired by, so we can dine even more awesome things. I give this game 5 out of 5 stars, it would make a wonderful gift for a little one in your life!
