The Berry Patch (The Adventures of Scout and Kit) by Elise Monsour Puckett is exactly what you are looking for when it comes to a children’s book. It’s filled with bright, colorful, hand-drawn pictures, and the story is so sweet that you will want to read it over and over again (at least my child did).
Scout and his sister Kit are playing in the backyard when they stumble upon a little mouse, who takes them through a secret gate to a berry patch that they have never seen before. In the patch are blueberries, raspberries, grapes, and pretty much any other berry you can imagine.
Not only will the story entertain your child for years to come, but the illustrations are honestly to die for. Here, check out a couple:
Aren’t they just the cutest? I mean, this makes me wish I was in the story. I love that you can see how much time and passion was spent on each drawing, and the more you look at the pictures, the more little cute things you find.
This book was a joy, and Elise was sweet enough to send some stickers, coloring pages, and even an extra book to share with one of you! Head over to my Instagram and find the post with the book, comment or heart it, and you will be entered to win this beautiful storybook just in time for the holidays! Thank you, Elise, for such a sweet gift to my children! I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
