Until You

Until You by Bridie Blake is a cute teen romance about an average girl who gets the job of a lifetime, pretending to be the biggest heartthrob’s girlfriend. When Ellie happens to stumble into the right place at the right time while working one night, she’s cast in the role every girl wishes for, except it’s all pretend, or at least it’s meant to be.

Jason Holden is the “it boy” in Hollywood, he’s rich, he’s hot and of course, he’s talented. The only thing missing from his life is the lack of a girlfriend. When the two teens are thrust together, at first Ellie can’t stand Jason. He’s more arrogant than what he portrays in his movies, not so much a heartthrob, more of a douche bag. But, then we get to see Jason’s side of things, and we see that he’s very misunderstood and never really been in a situation like this before. The truth is, he’s falling for Ellie, and he’s not sure what to do about it.

I love that we get to see both characters perspective in this book, it’s not always rainbows and butterflies for famous people, and us ordinary folk can sometimes forget that. Seeing Jason as a real person was perfect, and watching him fall for Ellie, the typical girl, was even more fun.

The best part of this book was how easy it was to read, and how it was written. The characters pop out of the pages, and the story is familiar, yet it doesn’t have a lot of the cliche type of situations that you would assume it would have. I really had a lot of fun reading this, it was a welcome break from the darker stuff I’ve been leaning toward lately. I’m not going to lie, it sort of made me wish I was young again…Thank you to the author for sending me this book, I adored it. I give this one 5 out of 5 stars, watching the teens struggle with love and dealing with emotions was beautiful and clever.
