Off the Bookcase January 2018

Hello, hello, hello and welcome to one of my favorite little blog series that I do, okay…fine, it’s the only one that I do BUT I haven’t done an Off the Bookcase in a year! So, for January and February, I want to pick two books, one for each month (gotta start off slow in my old age), to read that I have been eyeing on my own bookshelves. These are not new releases, these are books that I’ve owned for probably years that I just haven’t cracked open yet, books that keep taunting me, and now is their time to shine.

my choices

For January, I chose a book that I talked about in my New Years Book Tag post- Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. I’ve read Gillian’s other work and enjoy most of them since this was her debut novel, I thought I would give it a whirl. I’ve had it for quite some time, but never really bothered to pick it up. Until now! This book sounds really interesting to me, it’s about a woman who heads to her hometown to report on the murders of two little girls, and I’m sure some dirt will be dug up, and some crazy things will happen, in true Gillian Flynn style.

In February, I want to go with something a little lighter, since this month reminds me of love and all that gushy stuff. So I’m going to be reading Where We Belong by Emily Giffin. This is one that I don’t know too much about. I purchased this at a library sale because I do adore Emily Giffin’s novels. From what I understand, it’s a chick-lit novel about a woman whose life gets turned upside down by a girl from her past.

I’ll be back in March to tell you what I thought about these books, and to toss another one from my bookshelf onto my TBR list.
