There is rarely a time that I go to the movies, and there is even rarer a time that I go to the movies to watch a story about a book that I haven’t read yet. In fact, I can’t remember the last time that I did that, it’s almost blasphemy to me. So, here are some books that I am excited to read this year in preparation for the movie:
This movie comes out on my daughter’s first birthday! January 26th. Although I have read this series before, I have to get into it again in preparation. Though the movies do take some creative liberties from what I can remember, I still want to dive back into the world of Thomas and the Maze before I head to the theatre. (Who am I kidding, I’m probably going to see all these movies when they come out on DVD.)
Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer is a book that I’ve seen a million times, and never had any interest in it, until I saw the preview for the movie. I’m thoroughly excited to see this movie, but first I must read the book. This one comes out February 23rd, and I’m pretty sure my husband got me this for my birthday (Don’t tell him that I know.)
This is another one of those books that I’ve seen a million times, and unlike the previous book, I have always wanted to pick this one up, I just keep forgetting about it. It looks super funny, I can’t wait to check this out.
What movies are you looking forward to seeing this year? What books are you going to grab before you watch the films? I know this list is short, but with new movies coming out all the time, it’s hard to keep up!
